AS400 Senior Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor junior AS400 developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Design, develop, support, and maintain complex AS400/IBM i applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Develop robust solutions utilizing Free Format RPGILE, ILE Concepts, COBOL, and DB2.
• Build and integrate secure Web Services within existing enterprise applications.
• Actively participate in and drive application modernization initiatives, contributing to strategic transformations.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
• Engage in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups to maintain project velocity.
• Perform thorough code reviews, ensuring adherence to established coding standards and best practices.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and swiftly resolve complex technical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 to 9 years of hands-on experience in AS400 development and the IBM i platform.
• Demonstrated expertise in Free Format RPGILE, ILE Concepts, COBOL, and DB2.
• Proven experience in designing and integrating Web Services for enterprise-level applications.
• Familiarity with application modernization strategies and practical experience in relevant initiatives.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with Scrum Methodology and Agile development environments.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps (ADO) and modern software development practices.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to learning and a commitment to staying updated with emerging technologies like Azure, AI, and GenAI.
