Associate Network Security Engineer

Cybernxt is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Security Engineer to join our dynamic team in Mumbai. In this pivotal full-time role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding our network infrastructure, ensuring its integrity, confidentiality, and availability. As a Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, configuring, and troubleshooting our Fortinet FortiGate firewalls and VPN solutions, playing a critical part in our overall security posture. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in network security and operations to help us maintain a robust and secure digital environment for our business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and meticulously manage Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, ensuring optimal performance and robust security across the network.
• Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive firewall rules, security policies, and network connectivity standards to protect organizational assets.
• Proactively monitor firewall logs, analyze security alerts, and swiftly respond to and resolve security incidents to minimize potential impact.
• Perform regular firewall upgrades, conduct thorough backups, implement security hardening measures, and execute routine maintenance tasks to ensure continuous protection.
• Manage and troubleshoot complex IPsec and remote-access VPN connections, ensuring secure and reliable communication for all users.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of detailed network security documentation, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for audit and operational purposes.
• Collaborate effectively with internal IT teams and external vendors to coordinate security initiatives, troubleshoot advanced issues, and implement new solutions.
• Participate in incident management processes, conducting root cause analysis for security breaches and implementing preventative measures.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE) or a related technical field is required.
• Minimum of 3 to 4 years of hands-on experience as a Network Security Engineer, with a proven track record in network security operations.
• Extensive practical experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, including configuration, management, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Solid expertise in firewall policies, Network Address Translation (NAT), and security profiles configuration and optimization.
• Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting IPsec and remote-access VPN issues.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, and DHCP.
• Proven experience in network troubleshooting, incident response, and performing root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
