Backend Engineer

We are seeking a talented and experienced Backend Engineer with a strong focus on Python to join our dynamic team. This Backend Engineer role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about building scalable backend systems, tackling real product challenges, and taking full ownership of features from conception through to development and deployment in a production environment. You will play a crucial role in our product development, working primarily on backend systems while collaborating closely with frontend and product teams to deliver comprehensive end-to-end features.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services using Python.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and product managers to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices and OOP principles.
• Implement and manage REST APIs for seamless communication between various system components.
• Work with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, and implement ORMs effectively.
• Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment and monitoring.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience as a Backend Engineer with strong Python proficiency.
• Hands-on experience with Python web frameworks such as Flask, Django, or FastAPI.
• Strong understanding and practical experience in designing and implementing REST APIs.
• Experience with relational database management systems, preferably PostgreSQL, and ORMs like SQLAlchemy or Django ORM.
• Good knowledge of software engineering principles including caching, queues, background jobs, logging, and error handling.
• Proficiency with version control systems, especially Git, and familiarity with testing methodologies.
• Demonstrated strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent ownership, communication, and continuous learning abilities.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
