BI Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Validate the accuracy, completeness, consistency, and integrity of BI reports, dashboards, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, and comprehensive analytics solutions.
• Perform meticulous source-to-target data validation and reconciliation to ensure seamless data flow and transformation.
• Thoroughly test ETL/ELT pipelines and intricate data transformation processes.
• Validate complex calculations, aggregations, filters, drill-down/drill-through functionalities, and the overall visualization quality of dashboards.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for BI solutions.
• Proactively identify, accurately track, and effectively manage defects throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Users, Data Engineers, BI Developers, and Product Teams to define requirements and ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Support and contribute to the automation initiatives for data and BI testing processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field.
• 8 to 12 years of progressive professional experience in Data Testing, Data Warehouse Testing, or as a dedicated BI Quality Engineer.
• Profound expertise in validating BI reports, dashboards, and KPI testing.
• Mandatory hands-on experience with Power BI and Tableau for report and dashboard validation.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, including experience with SQL Server, Oracle, and Spark SQL, for complex data querying and validation.
• Solid understanding and practical experience with ETL/ELT processes and Source-to-Target Data Validation.
• Familiarity with Data Warehousing concepts such as Fact & Dimension Models, Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, and OLAP.
• Exposure to cloud data platforms and tools like Databricks, PySpark, Delta Lake, ADLS, and ADF is highly desirable.
• Experience with Python-based automation and data validation frameworks.
• Strong understanding of STLC, Defect Lifecycle, and Agile methodologies.
