Data Analyst / Data Modeler - Snowflake & DBT

Key Responsibilities

• Data Analysis: Gather and meticulously document intricate business and data requirements, translating them into actionable insights.
• Perform comprehensive Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) to ensure seamless data flow and transformation.
• Conduct thorough data profiling and quality analysis, identifying discrepancies and ensuring high data integrity.
• Define precise business rules and validation logic to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
• Provide robust support for System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), reconciliation, and critical data validation activities.
• Data Modeling: Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models that align with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Construct advanced dimensional models, including facts, dimensions, and data marts, for optimized analytical reporting.
• Engineer scalable Snowflake schemas specifically tailored for high-performance analytics and data consumption.
• Establish clear data lineage, metadata standards, and robust data governance policies.
• Maintain comprehensive data dictionaries and mapping documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
• Migration & Modernization: Actively support complex legacy-to-Snowflake migration programs from planning to execution.
• Collaborate closely with dbt developers to design and implement efficient data transformation logic.
• Rigorously validate migrated datasets against source systems to guarantee data accuracy and completeness.
• Identify opportunities to optimize and modernize existing data models, enhancing performance and scalability.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst or Data Modeler, with 5 to 16 years of relevant industry experience.
• Exceptional proficiency in advanced SQL and query optimization techniques.
• In-depth understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Demonstrable expertise in various Data Modeling methodologies (e.g., Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
• Solid experience with Snowflake architecture, including data migration projects.
• Hands-on experience with dbt (data build tool), including model development, testing, and documentation.
• Strong background in data profiling, data quality analysis, data lineage, and metadata management.
• Prior experience in the Banking or Financial Services Domain is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Cloudera/Hadoop to Snowflake migration processes and Apache Airflow is a significant plus.
