ETL QA Engineer (GoldenSource Testing)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the validation of complex ETL processes, critical data migrations, and intricate data transformations to ensure absolute accuracy, integrity, and adherence to business requirements.
• Perform comprehensive and advanced SQL-based data validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks across diverse and large-scale data sources, identifying and resolving discrepancies proactively.
• Execute rigorous and end-to-end testing of GoldenSource data feeds, complex workflows, and critical integrations, ensuring data consistency and system reliability.
• Conduct thorough end-to-end testing of data warehouse solutions, ensuring data lineage, and validating reporting applications for accuracy and optimal performance.
• Manage and conduct various vital testing activities, including in-depth data quality assurance, robust regression testing, thorough user acceptance testing (UAT), and critical production validation.
• Collaborate closely with development, business, and data architecture teams to meticulously understand requirements and translate them into effective and efficient test strategies and plans.
• Contribute significantly to the continuous improvement and evolution of QA processes, automation frameworks, and testing methodologies for both ETL and GoldenSource environments.
• Document test cases, defects, and test results comprehensively, ensuring clear communication and traceability throughout the testing lifecycle.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive professional experience as an ETL QA Engineer, with a demonstrated expertise in GoldenSource platform testing.
• Proven extensive experience in ETL & Data Warehouse Testing, including proficiency in source-to-target mapping, data lineage, and complex reconciliation testing.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, capable of writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performing intricate data analysis for validation purposes.
• Hands-on experience with industry-leading ETL tools such as Informatica, Ab Initio, Talend, or SSIS.
• Solid familiarity and practical experience with test management and defect tracking tools, including JIRA, HP ALM, or Quality Center.
• Strong working knowledge and experience with Unix/Linux environments, including shell scripting for data manipulation and validation tasks.
• Comprehensive understanding and practical application of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) principles and best practices.
• Experience with financial data domains, ETL automation frameworks, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and cloud data platforms is highly preferred.
• Ability to join immediately or with a maximum notice period of 30 days is strongly preferred for this critical role.
