GL Accounting / Property Accounting Professional

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute end-to-end General Ledger (GL) and Property Accounting activities, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with relevant standards.
• Lead and oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing necessary adjustments and ensuring timely completion of all reporting cycles.
• Perform comprehensive journal entries, accruals, intercompany transactions, and meticulous account reconciliations across various balance sheet and profit & loss accounts.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and reports, providing insights into financial performance and position to support strategic decision-making.
• Handle all property-related financial transactions, including rent invoicing, lease accounting, property tax management, and associated reconciliations.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all accounting activities with internal policies and external regulations, maintaining robust financial controls.
• For Team Leader and Assistant Manager roles, lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, monitor their performance, and ensure strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and support overall business objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience ranging from 7 to 9+ years in General Ledger (GL) Accounting and/or Property Accounting, with a strong understanding of relevant principles and practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional certification (e.g., CA, CPA, CMA) is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in performing complex account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP or IFRS, with experience working in environments adhering to these standards.
• Advanced proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials) and exceptional skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in US shifts and a willingness to join immediately or within a 60-day notice period.
