Golang Developer / SRE

Metrix IT is urgently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Golang Developer with strong C/C++ expertise for an onsite contract position in O’Fallon, MO. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join our dynamic team and contribute to the development of high-performance, distributed systems. This role demands a deep understanding of systems programming and a proven track record in building robust and scalable network services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, highly available, and long-running services using Go and C/C++.
• Engage in Linux systems programming, including socket programming, and optimize for concurrency and multithreading.
• Implement robust and scalable solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices in distributed systems architecture.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization and design to testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features and enhancements.
• Ensure the security, reliability, and efficiency of developed applications through rigorous testing, debugging, and profiling.
• Actively contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development processes.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on development experience in Go and C/C++ is absolutely essential. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in both languages.
• Extensive experience with Linux systems programming, including socket programming, and a deep understanding of concurrency and multithreading concepts.
• Solid foundational knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and the principles of distributed systems.
• Proven ability to develop, optimize, and maintain high-performance and highly available network services.
• Familiarity with modern software development practices, including automated testing, debugging, profiling, secure coding standards, and CI/CD methodologies.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
