Head - Operations & Maintenance | General Manager

As the Head – Operations & Maintenance | General Manager, you will be responsible for the entire spectrum of our WTE plant’s operational lifecycle, ensuring optimal performance, cost efficiency, and compliance. This role demands a strong strategic thinker with hands-on experience in managing complex industrial operations and a proven track record in leading large teams and key stakeholders. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our operational strategies and contributing significantly to our mission of converting waste into valuable energy resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of Waste-to-Energy (WTE) plant operations and maintenance, ensuring peak performance and reliability.
• Oversee P&L management, implement robust cost optimization strategies, and drive overall business performance.
• Develop and execute initiatives to enhance plant efficiency, productivity, and operational excellence across all departments.
• Ensure stringent adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, environmental regulations, and all statutory compliance requirements.
• Manage engineering functions, including oversight of fleet and logistics operations crucial for waste handling and energy distribution.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate large operational teams, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Effectively manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, suppliers, and community representatives.
• Drive critical project execution initiatives, oversee Management Information Systems (MIS), and implement strategies for ongoing operational enhancements.

Requirements

• Demonstrated strong leadership experience as an Operations Leader or General Manager within the Waste-to-Energy (WTE), Municipal Solid Waste (MSW), or general waste management sectors.
• Extensive experience in managing large-scale plant operations and comprehensive maintenance programs.
• Proven ability to manage Profit & Loss statements, implement cost-saving measures, and drive financial performance.
• In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) protocols and statutory compliance in industrial settings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in utilizing Management Information Systems (MIS) for data-driven decision making.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team leadership skills, capable of inspiring and guiding diverse teams.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results under pressure.
