Java Developer

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Java Developer to join our team for a critical project supporting the NYS Department of Health. As a key member of our development team, the Java Developer will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining complex software solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement high-volume, low-latency applications for critical systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features for health research applications.
• Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code using Java and Spring Boot/Java EE frameworks.
• Perform database operations, including query optimization, schema design, and data manipulation using Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Participate actively in the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from conception to deployment and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to ensure operational excellence and adherence to best practices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems (MIS), or an equivalent field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Extensive hands-on experience (6+ years) with Java and enterprise frameworks such as Spring Boot or Java EE.
• Proficient in database technologies with 6+ years of experience in Oracle SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
• Must be local to the New York area and able to work on-site in Menands, NY.
