As a Manual Test Engineer (API Testing) at Photon, you will play a crucial role in verifying the functionality, reliability, and performance of our applications. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans and cases, with a significant focus on API-level testing. Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough manual testing across various applications and platforms to identify defects and ensure adherence to specifications.
• Design, develop, and execute detailed API test cases using tools like Postman, ensuring comprehensive coverage of REST and SOAP APIs.
• Analyze and interpret API specifications to create effective test scenarios and validate data integrity and system responses.
• Collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and other QA engineers to understand requirements and integrate testing throughout the SDLC.
• Accurately document test results, defects, and retest outcomes, utilizing JIRA for efficient defect tracking and management.
• Participate in test plan reviews, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
• Ensure the overall quality and stability of software products before release, acting as a gatekeeper for high-quality deliveries.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) or Master of Computer Applications (MCA) is mandatory.
• A minimum of 4 to 6 years of dedicated experience in manual software testing is required.
• Proven hands-on experience of at least 2 years in API testing, specifically using Postman.
• Strong understanding of REST and SOAP API concepts and architectural principles.
• Proficiency in SQL for database validation and data manipulation during testing.
• Experience with JIRA or similar defect tracking and project management tools.
• Candidates must have commenced their professional journey directly within the IT industry post-graduation; transitions from non-IT backgrounds are not eligible.
• Ability to join immediately or with a maximum notice period of 15 days is highly preferred.
