Principal Software Engineer

As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and deploying robust applications that drive business innovation, leveraging your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and enterprise database systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of complex enterprise Java applications and microservices.
• Architect and develop high-performance RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, adhering to Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
• Collaborate extensively with Oracle RDBMS, focusing on advanced SQL query development, optimization, and stored procedure implementation.
• Drive technical excellence within an Agile development framework (Scrum and Kanban), utilizing tools like Jira for project management.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of best practices and continuous improvement.
• Manage application deployment and configuration on Tomcat servers, including standalone Java batch applications in Unix/Linux environments.
• Participate actively in architectural reviews, technical discussions, and strategic planning for software development initiatives.
• Ensure code quality, conduct thorough peer reviews, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all developed solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Java application development, with deep expertise in Core Java, Java 8+, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience with Oracle RDBMS, including advanced SQL, performance tuning, and stored procedure development.
• Proven track record in designing and implementing REST API solutions, coupled with familiarity with Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Proficiency with modern development tools such as IntelliJ or Eclipse, Git/Bitbucket, Maven, and Jenkins for continuous integration/deployment.
• Strong understanding of Unix/Linux operating environments and principles of distributed system architecture.
• Solid experience working within Agile development methodologies, specifically Scrum and Kanban, with practical Jira usage.
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and a commitment to delivering high-quality, maintainable code.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with ETL, real-time data processing, Python, Snowflake, or Angular web development is a significant advantage.
