Resident Engineers — Data Center, Malaysia

We are seeking dedicated and skilled Resident Engineers to join our dynamic on-site team, playing a crucial role in supporting a high-performance Data Center in Johor, Malaysia. This pivotal position involves working 24x7 rotational shifts, ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of critical infrastructure. As a Resident Engineer, you will be at the forefront of maintaining the reliability and performance of our advanced data center environment, working with cutting-edge technologies and contributing to the seamless functioning of vital systems.

This role is perfect for an experienced professional passionate about data center operations and eager to apply their expertise in a demanding yet rewarding setting. You will be instrumental in executing Day 2 operations, monitoring system health, and providing essential support to ensure our data center infrastructure remains robust and highly available.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute Day 2 operations, including hardware maintenance, system patching, and comprehensive infrastructure monitoring.
• Provide detailed and accurate status reports on data center performance and operational metrics to customer management.
• Offer expert support for a wide range of systems, including servers, storage solutions, and intricate network architectures.
• Proactively identify and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal system functionality.
• Collaborate effectively with various teams to maintain high standards of operational excellence within the data center.
• Ensure compliance with all operational procedures and safety guidelines within the data center environment.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in data center operations, specifically with Day 2 activities.
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English is a mandatory requirement for effective communication.
• Willingness and flexibility to work 24x7 rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong technical background in supporting server, storage, and network systems.
• Familiarity with various data center technologies, including XE Servers, Control and Management Nodes, and advanced networking concepts like East-West and Converged & OOB Networks.
• Knowledge of storage solutions such as Flash & HDD Object Storage Network, PowerScale F710, All Flash Object Storage, and X560 HDD Object Storage is highly desirable.
• Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes is a significant advantage.
• Must be able to work on-site in Johor, Malaysia.
