Retail Data & BI analyst

As a Retail Data & BI Analyst, you will leverage your expertise to uncover critical insights from vast datasets, directly influencing product, pricing, and assortment strategies. This role is crucial for enhancing our reporting capabilities and supporting data-driven negotiations, contributing directly to our growth and efficiency objectives. We are looking for an individual who can not only analyze data but also translate findings into clear, concise recommendations that empower our business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze comprehensive retail datasets, including sales, pricing, promotions, inventory, product, store, and supplier data, to identify key trends and uncover lucrative business opportunities.
• Design, develop, and significantly enhance retail performance dashboards and reports primarily utilizing Power BI and other leading business intelligence tools.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of promotional campaigns, evaluating sales uplift, incremental sales, margin impact, and overall Return on Investment (ROI).
• Provide robust, data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to merchandising and commercial teams to optimize product selection, pricing strategies, and assortment decisions.
• Support critical supplier negotiations and commercial decision-making processes through precise data analysis and performance insights.
• Construct and diligently maintain complex data models, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and analytical datasets essential for retail reporting and advanced business intelligence.
• Collaborate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders to meticulously gather requirements and translate diverse business needs into comprehensive, data-driven solutions.
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual reporting tasks and streamline retail processes, significantly enhancing overall reporting efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform comprehensive ad-hoc analysis and rigorous root-cause analysis to pinpoint performance gaps and recommend actionable improvements that drive business growth.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, or in a similar data-centric role within the retail sector.
• Demonstrated proficiency and hands-on experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Expertise in developing interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI is essential.
• Strong command of Microsoft Excel for data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
• Familiarity with Palantir Foundry is a significant advantage, showcasing advanced data platform skills.
• Ability to interpret complex data, identify meaningful trends, and translate them into clear, actionable business recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
