SDE in Test (SDET)

Zennsoft is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic team in Dallas, TX. This is a crucial full-time, hybrid role, requiring a seasoned professional with over 10 years of specialized experience in software testing and automation. As an SDET at Zennsoft, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks using industry-best practices.
• Create and execute comprehensive automated test suites for functional, integration, regression, and API testing across web, mobile, and backend services.
• Collaborate closely with development, product, and operations teams to embed quality assurance practices throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Integrate automated tests into Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to enable rapid feedback and accelerate deployment cycles.
• Perform in-depth analysis and debugging of complex software defects, working proactively with engineers to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Drive the adoption of new testing tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance test coverage, efficiency, and overall product quality.
• Mentor junior quality assurance engineers and contribute to fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in software testing, with a strong emphasis on developing and maintaining test automation solutions.
• Exceptional programming proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#.
• Demonstrable expertise with leading test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or Appium.
• Solid experience in API testing, utilizing tools like Postman, REST Assured, or Karate to ensure backend service reliability.
• Strong command of SQL and practical experience with database testing across various platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Proven experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD for integrating automated tests.
• In-depth understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps principles.
• Familiarity with testing microservices architectures, cloud-native applications, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is highly desirable.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for managing test environments is a significant plus.
